Fauvism: Post-Impression in to Fauvism

This week we’re exploring Post-Impressionism, Expressionism , Fauvism and the use of strong colours to depict mood, meaning and subject matter. Mixing wet-on-wet on the page or canvas (you don’t need to mix all of your colours on your palette), you can experience the freedom of expression by trying to think outside the boundaries of realism in art. Van Gogh, Franz Marc, Auguste Macke etc. Look them up in www.tate.org.uk www.wikipedia.com or the internet to find out about the artists, their styles, influences and their work.
